Welcome Home

Encore has been open a little over 3 months.  We have welcomed 31 residents to their new home within the Encore and Avalon Park community.  Over the last year we have worked to build community partnerships that would enhance the lives of the residents of Encore.  We have also worked to provide an outreach for community members that wanted to donate some of their time and talents to our residents.  We are proud to say that the Encore residents are reaping the benefits of our community connections.  The local churches are providing bible studies, devotionals, and church services to our residents.  The Jetsetters, our active senior group in Avalon Park, are enriching the lives of our residents with their games and craft activities.  We’ve had visits from Girl Scout troops and school groups.  There is a local resident who generously volunteers his time and talent on a weekly basis entertaining our residents with his beautiful piano playing.  Encore is the current host for The Rotary Club’s Free Pancake Breakfast for seniors.  On Monday nights, you can enjoy a FREE sign language class.  And let’s not forget our weekly happy hour, complete with beverages and entertainment for our residents.

Encore has also opened its doors to community groups that need space to host their events.  St. Maximilian Kolbe hosted a “Mary and Me” Mother’s day tea with 100 attendees.  We are thrilled to be hosting Mass on Thursday mornings at 9:30 that is open to the community.  The Rotary club will be meeting here every Wednesday morning.  We are welcoming book clubs, church groups and professional groups.  We offer monthly educational topics sponsored by Florida Hospital and local physicians.

Our community outreach room, fondly named “Carnegie Hall”, is available to Avalon Park residents for rental.  We have many family events in the upcoming months.  We will use the revenue generated from Carnegie Hall to benefit the residents at Encore.

In the future, we will continue to develop our relationship with the Avalon Park community.  Encore strives to be an important part of the healthy, happy lives of our Avalon residents.  We are looking forward to being a part of several projects with the YMCA, Florida Hospital, Vitas Healthcare, Visiting Angels and many more community partners.  Please follow us on Facebook to stay apprised of all that we are doing in the community.   If you “check-in” on Facebook when you visit Encore, you can be entered into a drawing for a free massage from Spa Longevita.
