Break out your sneakers because it’s time to walk for a great cause. On Saturday, October 23, 2021, Encore at Avalon Park will be joining the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® event at Avalon Park. Here is what you need to know about the upcoming walk and how you can get involved.
Alzheimer’s Awareness’ Largest Fundraiser
The world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s awareness, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is held annually in over 600 communities a cross the globe. Funds raised from the events are allocated towards care, support, and research for those suffering from the debilitating memory-loss disease.
About the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® welcomes those of any age to join the fight against the disease. All you have to do is register for the event, spread the word to local friends and family to help kickstart your fundraising efforts, and show up on walk day to stroll around beautiful downtown Avalon Park in support of the fight against Alzheimer’s.
Of course, those who make it to the event will be asked to act in accordance with CDC and local guidelines for safety in observation of COVID-19. This will include maintaining physical distancing and participating in contactless registration. Masks and hand sanitizer will also be available on-site.

Those unable to make the walk and cheer us on in person can show their support virtually by making a donation and adding their flower in the fight to end the disease. This year, Encore at Avalon Park’s fundraising goal is to raise $5000.
